Young Jeezy (birth name Jay Wayne Jenkins) was born in Columbia (South Carolina) in 1977 but moved to Atlanta (Georgia) when he was little. He began his career in rap (under the name Lil J) in 2001 with the release of his debut studio album Thuggin' Under the Influence (T.U.I.). He’s had a stellar career with 8 studio albums, 16 mixtapes, 18 singles, and 40 music videos. He’s also appeared as a guest artist on tracks by many renowned artists such as Gucci Mane, Jay-Z, Christina Milan, Ludacris, Birdman, Usher, DJ Khaled, Akon, Ciara, Kanye West, Drake, Rihanna, Fat Joe, 50 Cent, Ty Dollar Sign, Rick Ross, Ne-Yo, and many more. He also starred (along with Ice Cube and stand-up comedian Mike Epps) in the 2009 comedy film Janky Promoters. His single Hard (featuring Rihanna) won a BET Award in the Viewer’s Choice category and the remix of his single I’m So Hood (featuring DJ Khaled, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Big Boi, Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, Birdman, and Rick Ross) won a BET Hip Hop Award for Best Hip-Hop Collaboration. He's also the leader of southern hip hop group United Streets Dopeboyz of America (USDA).
